114 yr old Marathon runner in hit and run

I woke up to the sad news this morning on the BBC,of the death of a 114yr old marathon runner. I never  knew of the gentleman in his lifetime .I heard it was hit and run.I call it ' murder'.What  a cowardly act.    I understand he started running after the deaths of  his wife and son. He was an icon and inspiration to many young people, which is no surprise.  I hope the authorities leave no stone unturned in hunting down and bringing that cowardly driver to justice. He suffered head injuries. He was out taking a walk when the tragedy happened.  May he RIP. Thoughts and prayers to his family and sporting colleagues.
